Announcement of the upcoming concerts of Teodor Currentzis

Tickets for Teodor Currentzis's concerts are a unique chance to hear the classics and their interpretations performed by the real maestro and his MusicAeterna ensemble at leading venues in Russia.

On April 30 and May 1, the Greek conductor will give a concert at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall. This time, he will take the stage with the RNMSO - the Russian National Youth Symphony Orchestra. The program includes Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 4. Mahler is a great humanist of his era, whose monumental musical canvases have emerged throughout the creative path of Teodor Currentzis. The work of the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1901 and then first performed under the baton of the author, and since then continues to remain relevant for our contemporaries. The philosophical idea of the work is associated with the infantile world of a child and the idea of death as the beginning of eternal life, evil and good are abstract here, harmony is the highest meaning, but a child is not given to achieve it a priori. The composer himself defined the emotional structure of the symphony as "the cloudlessness of another, more sublime, alien world", which not only surrounds a small person, but also frightens him with its understanding of powerlessness.

May 11 Currentzis with his main orchestra and choir will come to the Palace of International Forums "Uzbekistan" with a big concert. The conductor dedicated his last performance in Tashkent to the bright image of Italy in the works of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The program of this performance includes two of the greatest works: Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony and Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs. Pyotr Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony is dedicated to the theme of Man and Destiny; throughout the entire musical canvas, the dark theme of the confrontation between man and fate runs through, and this image runs through all the parts. The menacing power of fate seems irresistible, unshakable, so frightening. Richard Strauss's Four Last Songs contain a premonition and expectation of inevitable death, and were collected by a friend of the composer after his death. In the songs, the expectation of death is calm, imbued with the consciousness of the path traveled and the fatigue of life. The other three songs are based on poems by the great German poet Hermann Hesse and are quiet reflections or memories of the carefree, happy youth that Strauss observed around him.
