Teodor Currentzis and musicAeterna presented a selection of chamber works in Moscow, already habitually combining baroque music and works by contemporary composers in the program. The orchestra performed compositions written with a difference of three hundred years.
Currentzis' concert programs, as always, unite what seemed impossible to unite. But the maestro is subject to everything, or almost everything. The new musicAeterna program brings together five compositions, the earliest of which was written in the middle of the 17th century, and less than 30 years have passed since the last premiere. An unusual composition of instruments, extraordinary methods of sound extraction and performance techniques distinguish most of the works and make them a kind of challenge for performers and listeners.
MusicAeterna Orchestra and Choir was founded in 2004 by conductor Teodor Currentzis. The team includes musicians from 12 countries and 20 cities of Russia. musicAeterna's repertoire includes masterpieces of early music, iconic works from the 19th and 20th centuries, and experimental works by contemporary composers.
Teodor Currentzis is a student of Professor Ilya Musin, who brought up a galaxy of talented conductors. Currentzis has collaborated with leading symphony orchestras from different countries. He is the artistic director of the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Tchaikovsky.
The MusicAetrna orchestra has won recognition for its authentic interpretations of works by composers from different times. He performed on the best stages of the world, pleased the audience with new original programs.
