Teodor Currentzis, an outstanding conductor and musician with Greek and Russian roots, continues to captivate the hearts of music lovers worldwide. His unique approach to interpreting classical works makes each performance a true musical event.

Born in Athens in 1972, Currentzis showed an interest in music from an early age. He studied piano and violin, and also studied chamber music and conducting. In 1994, Currentzis moved to St. Petersburg to study with the legendary Ilya Musin. Since then, his career has skyrocketed: he served as Musical Director of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, and later headed the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Today, Currentzis is the Artistic Director of the International Diaghilev Festival in Perm and Principal Conductor of the Southwest Radio Symphony Orchestra of Germany. In 2022, he founded the international Utopia Orchestra, bringing together talented musicians from 28 countries.
