The anniversary tour will feature a performance by the orchestra “musicAeterna” under the direction of the famous Teodor Currentzis

This grandiose work requires the participation of not only an orchestra, but also a choir with soloists, and reveals the themes of searching for the divine and reflection on the transience of life.

Mahler devoted many years to the creation of the Second Symphony: its first movement appeared in 1888 and symbolizes farewell to the hero of the First Symphony. The second and third movements were written after the funeral of the composer's close friend and mentor, Hans von Bülow. It was his courage and innovation that inspired Mahler, and his death gave the symphony depth and solemnity. In this music, lasting almost an hour and a half, the Austrian composer expressed his grief and shock. In addition to the themes of grief and fear of death, Resurrection also features a desire for faith, hope for the salvation of the soul, acceptance of the inevitable, and belief that immortality is possible through humility before higher powers.
