The Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory will host a concert by Teodor Currentzis and musicAeterna. Kurtág’s authorial language is compressed and concise, yet incredibly emotional, turning each work into a personal message full of feelings and experiences.
In contrast will be the second part of the program — the great «German Requiem» by Johannes Brahms. The composition was created after a heavy loss and, despite the tragic circumstances, carries a mood of hope and spiritual freedom. Without a traditional church context, the requiem speaks directly to the individual, addressing the overcoming of the fear of death and the acceptance of one’s own nature.
