The biography of Teodor Currentzis, a prominent Greek and Russian conductor known for his innovative approach to classical music performance and profound understanding of compositional thought, began on February 24, 1972, in Athens. His family was musical. The boy began studying piano at the age of four, and violin at eight. During his student years, Teodor Currentzis founded his first chamber orchestra.

In 1994, the conductor moved to the northern capital to study conducting at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. During his studies, Teodor Currentzis worked with various ensembles and gradually gained recognition among colleagues and audiences. An important stage was his collaboration with the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, where he was chief conductor from 2004 to 2010. There, he became not only a musical maestro but also the founder of the orchestra and choir musicAeterna. This ensemble quickly gained international renown thanks to its unique performance principles, based on an authentic approach to early and contemporary music.

Teodor Currentzis's work is now renowned worldwide—he has collaborated with leading European and American orchestras, such as the Berlin, Freiburg, and St. Petersburg orchestras. In addition, the conductor regularly participates in major festivals in Switzerland, Austria, and France.
