Mahler. Symphony No. 2, Currentzis and musicAeterna

The loss was a heavy blow for Mahler. At the funeral ceremony, a chorale based on Klopstock's verses was performed, which became the basis for the finale of Mahler's monumental symphony. This work tells of the search for God, human faith and the resurrection of the soul. It was Klopstock's poems that served as the title of Mahler's second symphony, the "Resurrection Symphony".
