Zaryadye Concert Hall in Moscow will host the program "Rameau: The Sound of Light – 2." Teodor Currentzis and the musicAeterna ensemble will present an anthology of music by Jean-Philippe Rameau, spanning several genres of Baroque musical theater: *tragédie lyrique*, *opéra-ballet*, comedy, and heroic pastoral.
The program features excerpts from five works. The *opéra-ballet* *Les Indes galantes* evokes the exotic atmosphere of distant lands; *Castor et Pollux* is a *tragédie lyrique* about fraternal love and self-sacrifice; *Platée* is an ironic comedy in which Rameau masterfully plays with operatic conventions; *Les Fêtes d'Hébé* celebrates the arts of music, poetry, and dance; and *Zaïs* explores the theme of a sylph's love for a mortal woman. All these pieces are woven into a cohesive dramatic narrative.
Performing on stage will be the musicAeterna orchestra and choir — playing period instruments — alongside a dance troupe and soloists from the Anton Rubinstein Academy.
The evening’s music director and conductor will be Teodor Currentzis — one of the most brilliant interpreters of the Baroque repertoire on the global stage.
