State Academic Chapel

The State Academic Capella of St. Petersburg is a significant concert organization with a rich history and high professionalism. Founded in 1476 as the Choir of the Sovereign's Singing Deacons, the Capella is the oldest professional choral group in Russia. It also includes a symphony orchestra and a concert hall known for its excellent acoustics. The architectural complex on the Moika River embankment, rebuilt in the late 19th century by the architect Leonty Benois, has served as the home of the Capella since 1810.
