A concert of the musicAeterna Orchestra under the direction of Theodor Currentzis, a talented conductor, will take place on the stage of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg.

The orchestra's new program combines two symphonic masterpieces of the Moscow and St. Petersburg schools of composition - the Second Symphony by Sergei Rachmaninov and the symphonic suite "Scheherazade" by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov.

Despite the fact that these works reflect different epochs - the events of the first Russian revolution divide them by twenty years and mark the transition from the XIX to the XX century, both composers successfully combine elements of Russian classical and romantic symphonism in their compositions.
