About event
The concert of the musicAeterna choir and orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis is an event that promises to be a highlight in the cultural life of Perm. The Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after P. I. Tchaikovsky will perform Gustav Mahler's Second Symphony, known as "Resurrection". This large-scale musical project brings together an orchestra, choir and invited soloists.
The "Resurrection" symphony is not just a piece of music, but a philosophical reflection on life and death, the search for meaning and the hope for rebirth. The first part, "Funeral Funeral", sets the tone for the entire work, immersing the listener in an atmosphere of deep emotional tension. The middle parts of the symphony, like interludes, take us from memories of bright days to the bubbling of life, and the song "Primordial Light" becomes a symbol of the hero's desire for liberation.
The finale of the symphony is a grandiose musical canvas, in which the orchestra and choir unite in a powerful sound that completes the cycle. Mahler added his own lines to the text of Klopstock's chorale, reinforcing the idea of faith and hope. It is thanks to these lines that the symphony got its name.
Teodor Currentzis, known for his passion for interpreting musical works, will give the performance of the symphony a special depth and expression. The Perm Theater, with its unique acoustics and atmosphere, will be an ideal venue for this concert.
